The same tribe later started a war against the white settlers because they acted with extreme violence towards the Indian tribes. Columbus described the Indians in derogatory terms and when he returned home he took some Indians with him. The first person to come into contact with the Indians was Christopher Columbus who arrived in San Salvador in the year 1482.
